SLIA Featured on Makkah to Manchester Series

SLIA Eid-Ul-Fitr Lunch 2026 appearing on Islam Channel's series from Makkah to Manchester
The SLIA Eid-Ul-Fitr Lunch 2026 brought together our community in a truly special way, creating a warm and welcoming space for families, friends and especially our younger generation to celebrate Eid together.
Held in a spirit of unity and gratitude, the event was filled with laughter, meaningful conversations and a strong sense of belonging. It was heartening to see so many families reconnect, meet new members, and share in the joy of Eid after a blessed month of Ramadan.
One of the highlights of the day was the energy and excitement from the children. From playing together to forming new friendships, it was a reminder of how important these gatherings are in helping shape a strong, confident identity for the next generation of Sri Lankan Muslims in the UK.
The programme featured a series of thoughtful speeches that reflected on the importance of community, contribution and continuity - values that have defined SLIA for over five decades. These moments reinforced the role we all play in building a meaningful future together.
Events like this are only possible through the continued support of our members and volunteers. As we look ahead, we hope to see even more families engage, contribute and be part of shaping what SLIA represents for generations to come.
Eid Mubarak once again to all - and we look forward to welcoming you at our future events.
