SLIA UK Presidents Letter - November 2025
Nov 21, 2025
Assalamu Alaikum Warahmathullahi Wabarakathuhu,
My Dear Brothers and Sisters, It is with great honour and privilege that I assume the role of President of our esteemed Sri Lanka UK Islamic Association (SLIA UK). This community has stood for 53 years as a beacon of unity, resilience, and cultural pride. Since taking office in November, I have been deeply inspired by the strength and harmony of our Sri Lankan Muslim community, and I am committed to continuing the good work of our predecessors.
I am also delighted to introduce you to our newly appointed Executive Committee. This team is a dynamic and harmonious blend of youthful energy alongside the wisdom of our seasoned members. Their enthusiasm, experience, and commitment will, Insha'Allah, serve to strengthen our efforts and guide us towards meaningful progress. Together, we will work diligently to serve you with professionalism, transparency, and a renewed spirit of collaboration.
We are excited to see the positive contributions they will bring to the organisation.
Our focus for the year ahead is clear: we are committed to organising well-thought-out, meaningful events that will bring our families closer together, celebrate our Sri Lankan Muslim identity, and create valuable opportunities for every member of our community, regardless of age; to engage, contribute, and grow.
We look forward to working closely with each and every one of you, welcoming your ideas, and building a vibrant and united future for our association, Insha'Allah.
Wassalamu Alaikum Warahmathullahi Wabarakathuhu.
Imtiaz Muhseen
